Remsons International Research Conference 2022

DSIMS and DSGS organized the eighth Remsons International Research Conference (RIRC) on 24th September 2022 under the aegis of Remsons Centre for Management Research. The theme of the conference was “Post-Pandemic Business Landscape: Recreating Sustainable Competitive Advantage”. Remsons Chair Professor and the Chief Convener of RIRC, Dr. Sumana Chaudhuri welcomed the august gathering and apprised the rigour and relevance of the theme. President RSET and Chairman DSIMS, Mr. Ashok Saraf, narrated the history of the establishment of the Remsons Research Centre at DSIMS and he also highlighted the vision of Rajasthani Sammelan Education Trust (RSET) towards educational excellence.

Chief Guest, Mr. Krishna Kejriwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Remsons Industries delivered his insightful keynote speech on challenges faced by the Indian economy post-pandemic. He talked about the challenges like inflation, recession, and retention of human resources. He also focused on the current crisis faced by countries across the globe such as the Ukraine-Russia war, flooding and financial crisis faced by neighbouring countries of India. To deal with these challenges, he discussed the importance of value engineering, reducing cost, reducing waste, reducing carbon footprint, audit of HR practices and adaptability. He concluded his speech with the advice of embracing the innovation of Products, Processes and institutes.

Keynote Speaker Mr. Robin Banerjee, MD Caprihans India Ltd, highlighted the importance of having the right attitude. He also talked about inflation, decreasing value of the Indian currency and the uncertainty of the world.

He also gave insights on the acronym-‘FOURTH’ – six major keys to succeeding in life which is Finance, Operations, Unique Selling Proposition, Risk management, Technology and Human resource.

The morning session ended with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof. Pooja Goswami to the esteemed dignitaries.

The Paper Presentation Session started right after the Plenary Session. The Session Chair was Dr. Kiran Sharma, Area Chairperson Marketing and International Business, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research.

After preliminary screening, based on merit, 15 research papers had been presented by the Professors and Deans of various Management Institutes as well Industry professionals.

Based on the fair evaluation by the blind reviewers and the session chair, three of the fifteen presenters had been chosen as the Best Paper Awardees. Prize money of Ten thousand, seven thousand and five thousand had been awarded to Dr. Ravindra Dey, Ms. Saie parab of MMS Batch 2023 and Dr. Chandrashekhar Kaushik of DSIMS, Ms. Ravijaa Mehta of NMIMS respectively. The Jury members awarded the certificates to all the presenters. A unique endeavour on the part of the Institute was to host a conference on Post-Pandemic Business Landscape: Recreating Sustainable Competitive Advantage. The Conference was indeed a grand success.
