India is one of few countries in the world offer variety of MBA programs in many formats. Every year 2.5 lac MBA aspirants appear for various entrance examinations to get MBA admissions.
There are more than 4000 B-Schools that offer MBA programs. Leading IIMs and top tier B-Schools offer generally two year MBA programs for management aspirants. Recently, few IVY league B-Schools also joined the band wagon and offer high end MBA programs in India offering both online and face to face classroom sessions for senior executives of multinational organisations.
Few selected B-schools like ISB and Great Lakes Institute Of Management offer MBA program in 12 months, 18 months and 24 months format for different levels of corporate executives.
MBA aspirants can choose different forms of programs depending upon their experience, budget, time availability and their ability to qualify competitive exams.
Besides regular MBA programs, most of the IIMs and other leading B-Schools like XLRI, MDI, SPJIMR offer hybrid management programs wherein candidates come to institutes once in a quarter or six months for class room learning. These candidates get connected with professors every week in their respective cities or towns through virtual class rooms.
Most of the B-Schools regularly update or review their curriculum to international standards. Regulatory bodies like All India Council of Technical Education and UGC periodically examine the quality of education. Whereas accreditation bodies such as NAAC, NBA, EQUIS, ACCIB, SAQS consistently mentor member institutes to keep up high standards of management education.
MBA education in India is evolving every year with the support of world class accreditation agencies and technological (digital) advancement.
